What Training Looks Like Here
Clarity
Dogs thrive when they understand what’s being asked of them. I teach communication in a way that makes sense to both dog and human.
Fairness
Training should be grounded and honest. No guessing, no confusion, no unrealistic expectations. Just clear guidance rooted in respect.
Connection
Instinct isn’t the enemy. It’s the foundation. I work with your dog’s genetics, not against them, to build trust and purpose.
OUR STORY
Before I ever brought my boys home, I was already a dog trainer. I knew the science, the structure, the methods. But Archie is the dog who taught me what training really means.

From the moment he came home, he showed me exactly who he was—resource guarding, reactivity, dog aggression, people selectiveness. Big feelings in a tiny body. I carry scars from those early days, but they aren’t reminders of failure. They’re reminders of everything he taught me.

Archie taught me what real patience looks like. What fairness feels like to a dog. How deeply genetics matter. How to see the dog in front of me, not the one I expected. He forced me to slow down, listen differently, and communicate with clarity and respect.

He isn’t perfect, and he never needed to be. He just needed someone willing to understand him.

Misfit Herders was built from that truth.

Meet Delaney
I’ve spent over 10 years in the pet industry and 8 years training dogs hands-on. I’m a NePoPo® Silver Graduate, and I stay committed to ongoing education because this work deserves precision, depth, and accountability.
I train dogs the way I do because I respect who they are—their intelligence, their emotions, their drives, and the relationships they form with us. I don’t believe in suppressing behavior for the sake of appearances. I believe in teaching dogs how to think, how to make choices, and how to exist in the human world without losing themselves.
My focus is clear communication, fair structure, and helping both ends of the leash understand each other. Training isn’t about control. It’s about responsibility, clarity, and a relationship that holds up outside a training session.
Why Choose US?

Because you need a trainer who actually gets it.

I have worked with dogs who are sensitive, high-drive, reactive, anxious, and misunderstood — the ones people label as “too much.” I know what it feels like to love a dog who complicates your life. And I know how to turn that chaos into clarity.
